The Poor Boyz Car
Club was founded in 2000 by a close-knit group of 5 guys looking to dive into
car culture and bring a touch of nostalgia to the streets of Ottawa. We set out
on a mission to emulate the days when people got together with their friends,
worked on each
others'
cars, enjoyed a good cruise, or simply went out
to relax at the local burger joint. It was also formed as a way to demonstrate
our interpretation of automobile customizing
and to bring back classic styling. While driving around, most of us notice a
certain year or style of car that jogs the memory banks and lets
us relive moments that involve parents,
grandparents, or even lost loved ones. That feeling justifies the countless
hours spent wrenching, not to mention
the dollars spent perfecting and personalizing our rides. "Bred for the future drivers by the past."
All the work is noticeable when you look at how dedicated we are to our club. We are currently involved in a couple of endeavors that bring Kustom Kulture back to the area. We will be hosting our first annual Poor Boyz Cruise Night (date to be announced) and will be helping out in other local car shows across the city. Time permitting, we are also looking to host a charity run. Keep your eyes peeled and stay up-to-date by logging onto our website frequently.
Poor Boyz Car
Club currently has 14 members and is expanding. We will be launching our
clothing line "Poor Boyz C.C." this coming June. We are also working
on a "Poor
Boyz Performance Shop" specializing in chopping, channeling and other ways
of
customizing muscle cars and hot rods.
We would like to thank the Davis' for putting up with our monthly meetings and smoke shows, and all of our friends and families for participating in our annual charity car / bike show, which raises money for CHEO. We would also like to thank Shannon Lee Mannion for taking time out of her busy schedule to get to know us and to write an awesome article about us.
If you have any questions or would like to contact us, please feel free to use the email provided below. Also, send us a note if you're hosting a cruise night or car show and would like us to help. We hope you enjoy our website and keep on cruisin'!!
