Chris' 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle
This car was bought in Sept 1997 off the original owner who gave the car up
cause it had manual brakes, 51000 original miles and the frame and the floors
were solid so it was an easy choice. The Chevelle sat for the next few years
while I was in school trying to get myself an education and a j o b. Last year I
had it registered and then I traded a Chevy pickup for the body job. The
original quarter panels were cut out to make way for new ones and the front
fenders were given new lower panels and new wheel lips. The paint is the closest
thing I could find to the original Grotto Blue. The rally wheels were purchased
with a set of Poly-glass tires, that came from a 70's corvette. New carpets were
bought but the benches need work, but all of that will have to wait until after
the 250 six is swapped out for the date coded 1968 327 to be put in (priorities)
I have had the car for seven years through thick and thin and it is not going
anywhere now.
